Top fashion designer John Galliano has been dropped by fashion house Christian Dior from its roster because of the well-known designer's anti-semitic remarks. In a report by CNN, the flamboyant designer is shown and heard professing his love for Hitler and how he wishes that people are gassed to death. Because of his extremely offensive remarks, Galliano is reaping condemnation from around the world and is set to go on trial which could land him in jail for at least six months.
Last year, I criticized Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) as it proclaimed Martin Luther as "a man of God". Up until his last breath, Luther hated Jews and wished that they die and go straight to hell. His book, Jews and Their Lies, contained ways on how to eliminate Jews. Most historians believe that Martin Luther and his book laid the groundwork for anti-semitism in Europe.
I am not at all surprised that a famous celebrity like John Galliano could utter such horrible remarks that truly offend sensibilities. After all, even a Christian group like CCF has the gall to praise Martin Luther despite knowing the fact that Luther advised people to kill Jews upon sight. Anti-semitism truly has a way of getting into one's system in such an inconspicuous manner . It is therefore imperative that people must be on guard and active to put a stop to anti-semitism in whatever form.
